back to article IBM boss Arvind 'kerching' Krishna paid more than $16m in 2022

IBM chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna's 2022 financial package was a healthy $16.58 million – equivalent to the median pay for 271 of his employees. Krishna's total compensation was down on the prior year by just under $1 million due to a lower volume of longer-term stock awards vesting, according to the 2023 Notice of Annual …

    Vice Chairman

“ vice chairman Gary Cohn some $8.95 million”

Struth! That’s not bad. Non-executive (seems to be - initial searches don’t show some other IBM related job besides the board) and he pockets that for a dozen or so meetings per year. Not to mention his other interests. I need to get a Delorean and have a chat with 10yo me and tell myself what not do so I can get on this wagon.

      Re: Vice Chairman

Compensation for board members isn't always this generous, but it's usually pretty damn sweet considering the amount of work involved. Yeah, I'd read some reports and attend some meetings in swank locations for an extra $100K/year, thanks.

But you know they do good work, like not punishing executives who fail utterly. The club doesn't run itself.

    How to get rich

Firing people, including older people, seems to be quite lucrative these days.

Think how much more he would be paid if the company he ran actually did something of value to customers, or even had a sustainable business model

Someone remind me, where do they send all the jobs once they run out the old folks?

    Meanwhile at DXC...

...another stellar company, the CEO has graciously awarded himself, being President and Chairman of Board, a measly $28million (up from $6million when he joined 4 years ago). Under his great watch, the annual revenue has halvedfrom $26Billion to $13Billion! After shouting at an employee in a town hall 18 months ago for asking about raises, he has gone AWOL. Not even a Happy Christmas/ New Year email.

Where's the Reg Standards Soviet when you need them?

I propose we quote exec compensation in the convenient unit of "DB2": the salary of a pair of median dino-babies, or a nice round $90394. Arvind made 135.5 DB2s this year.
