Quick - Ban them
Can't have evil Chinese Companies possibly getting access to teams meetings, can we?
Would you be happy staging a Teams-powered videoconference on a hefty Android-powered touchscreen commercial display? Chinese appliance giant Hisense is betting you will be – today it announced a deal with Microsoft China to make that sort of thing possible. Hisense makes tellies, audio kit, kitchen and laundry appliances, …
When the screen will probably send all the audio and sound to the monster DC in China as a matter of course. Oh, and there is the slurping that Android does on behalf of Google.
Then there is the little matter of updates. As we all know from our so-called smart TV's, the apps seldom get updated and suddenly, you find that they no longer work.
So, to summarise:-
- Send data to China? Yep
- Send data to Google? Yep
- Send data to Microsoft? Yep.
That is a big failure in my eyes. It is up to Hisense to prove that they don't slurp anything.
But I'll give them a bronze star for effort.
> there is the slurping [..] It is up to Hisense to prove that they don't slurp anything.
Last night I heard my touchscreen singing a song
Ooh wee, slurpy, slurpy, cheep, cheep
Woke up this morning and my data was gone
Ooh wee, slurpy, slurpy, cheep, cheep
Slurpy, slurpy, cheep, cheep, slurp
