If we Xed out all US corporate types....

...who have had contact with / worked for / supported politicians then we're be fresh out of executives. Yet somehow we're supposed to treat Russian (and Chinese) executives in this position as pariahs.

Russia has been part of the great global whatever for years so not only do we have branches of our multinationals over there but they've got multinationals with branches over here. It would make sense to reincorporate the business in another country so that the bit outside the Great Wall can continue to be a business.

Or are we truly trying to turn the clock back 50 - 60 years?

The Russian government chose its economic isolation. And knows exactly what it can do to reverse it.

Admittedly when I say the Russian government, Russia is now basically a dictatorship. It used to be much more complicated than that, but this war represents a disaster for Russians as well as Ukrainians. In that most of the scope for alternative views and alternative centres of power has gone from Russian society. It's Putin that has turned the clock back 50 years, to about the late Brezhnev era - such is the kit that the Russian army are now digging out of their long-term storage sites to send their conscripts to the front in - and soon society will be in about the same poor way. No ideology to believe in, just repression and sullen obedience to force.

Jsut a confirmation it was just lipstick on a pig

Yandex can't easily get rid of its Russian business, nor wants. After all it is the Google of many Eastern European countries, although at least one won't be so keen in keeping using it. Just I believed they were a bit smarter - but probably there are people they can't say "niet".
