The whole world should sanction the USA. If Germany had any balls it would have done when Merkel's phone was bugged. The USA knows all the peccadillos of the politicians - thanks to its spying. It only has to mention that they might be revealed for "our" politicians to bend over just that bit further.

is the concluding paragraph. My issue, by comparison, is a trivial one. They call the Iranian agency MOIS, an acronym of four or five English words. English is not Iran's national language. Back in my day, scary foreign agencies had acronyms in their own tongue, such as NKVD and KGB. Is using an English acronym a way of belittling the opposition? A sub-issue is that intelligence agencies are prodigious liars. It's part of the job. "That was then, this is now." don't cut it no more. "We are aware of these Mandiant-associated claims. At this point, we do not have any evidence to support their claims. We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops." , to slightly edit a statement from one of Mandiant's own press releases.

Iranians are interesting. They are a democracy albeit a theo-democracy... compared to the US Plutocracy... Aren't the religious right in murica also interested in this sort of thing for their Middle Eastern Religion too? Sure they are... How many Southern Fried Idiots have you heard say, "We need to bring God back into our Government." I thought Trump was God... Iranians are smart. They have wonderful technology and they have lots of oil money.
But the biggest bit of luck for Iranians is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION... With just a handful of missiles, and they make a damn good missile, just as the British made a damn good Spitfire [The aircraft not the car.]
With those missiles, Iran can shut down Saudi oil in mere minutes. Trump wanted to Nuke Iran until the Joint Chiefs sat around and had a good laugh and had to explain to Trump where Iran was located in relationship to global oil from the Gulf.
Israel talks tough but they are not entirely sure that Iran doesn't have the bomb.
AT present the US has sanctions on 40% of the world population... What exactly is the USA doing in the Middle East and Persia? The US killed more than 1 million Iraqis. In Yemen US pilots were blowing up elementary school buses and turning ten-year-olds into smoking meat chunks.

Iran, its people and enormously long history of culture are indeed very interesting. However, they are not a democracy, just like Hong Kong and Russia are no longer democracies, as no one can stand for election that oppose the current regime's views in any meaningful way. In fact, simply expressing a view can get you jailed or result in an accident involving a high hospital window.

Sadly I have to concede you have a point there.
The story is that Albania houses the anti-Iran spearhead of the US. The Balkan state is otherwise not to popular within it's neighbours, but they are the location of the biggest Mojahedin headquarter and training center known as Ashraf-3 with US funding (Iranian opposition party/rebels for the young ones). It's pretty easy to destabilize as there recently was an election and change of leading political power and they're also trying to get into the EU - needless to say the EU wouldn't really like a country with an Iranian opposition camp located in it, so the current government will have to decide what to do with the Mojahedin compound. The cyberattack is probably meant to be a strong nudge towards the "ditch them" direction.
