    In other news... Gangs of thieves are turning to vehicles like family saloons and people carriers as alternatives to the traditional Transit van: not only for the leather seats and tinted windows but also because they are stopped less by police looking for stolen goods.

    So crims use the available technologies, just like we all do. "Crims use Tech X" does not imply "Tech X is mostly used by crims"!

    There is some useful info buried in the article but demonising important tech is not helpful.
