If Microsoft acquirers Activision Blizzard it would still not dominate the games industry. It would only be the third largest game company behind Tencent and Sony.

    Amazon "Buy Box"

What is this Amazon "Buy Box"?

Obviously, like many, I try & avoid Amazon if possible for their various dubious activities - its a grudging last resort purchasing option for me.

... Just visited & did some searches & got results but no clue what a "Buy Box" is.

Searches did not have prime enabled by default (but no idea if their results algorithm priorities prime)

Did see lots of areas of screen real estate pushing a variety of products on entry page but no idea if that refers to one / some of those

So, maybe an explanation for us that are not Amazon aficionados?

Yes, why ask that articles contain relevant information when some AC will just post the "Just Google it, bro!" response in the comments? Hell, why visit the Reg at all when we can just Google the answers to all of our questions? Who needs analysis?

"if this feeds unfairly into business decisions made by the company's retail tentacle"

I'm going to go waaayy out on a limb here and say : it probably does.

I know of no large, multibillion multinational that actually tries respecting the law before it is crammed down its throat via lawsuit.
