    "...which we assume...", "...which we take to mean..."

    I doubt if Intel is comparing their future high end products with current competition.

    It's much harder to get "5x" if your reference point is the current competition and not your own laggardly slow chips. Which is doubtless what they mean when they say "current platforms". They mean "current Intel platforms".
