Twitter has officially entered the post-Dorsey age: its founder and two-time CEO's board term expired Wednesday, marking the first time the social media company hasn't had him around in some capacity. Jack Dorsey announced his resignation as Twitter chief exec in November 2021, and passed the baton to Parag Agrawal while …

Elon has not bought anything yet.

Elon Musk has already signed the purchase contract. Though IANAL so I don't really know if this is legally defined as "bought" but not yet "paid".

Elon is writing checks on assets he cannot convert into cash.

I suspect there is a lot of small print with lots of ambiguous clauses that basically boil down to "who has the most money+lawyers"

    Why stay?

Musk has promised everyone a massive spectacle of a train wreck and people are waiting to see it. Why stick around feeling betrayed when you can go spend some quality time with your money?

This "takeover" is starting to look like a trainwreck

And Mr Billionnaire apparently can't make enough billions fungible.

I think that should incite into a rethink of a person's personal fortune. You have $100 billion in company assets ? They're not yours until you've sold them and actually converted them into cold, hard cash.

Of course, that would make for a lot less glamorous news titles . . .

    Did he ever...

    plan to buy Twitter?

Or was/is it just a broken chain on the wrecking ball ?

    Musk on the loose.

    Keep in mind

many of the details in the slow news drip of this deal have surfaced through regulatory filings that are by nature after the fact, so this story is being pieced together little bits at a time. This is IMO far from over.
