      Except salespeople. I'd need dog poo perfume for those, but that's a step too far for me.

    Hot summer nights and diesel in the air

    Has anyone told AWS that California has regular power generation deficits on hot summer evenings? Loss of western US hydroelectric power to drought isn't helping.

    Hopefully they have a big budget for solar and batteries. No one's going to let them run dirty emergency generators 4pm to 10pm after each hot day.

    First they came for our orchards...

    I'm as much to blame as any other tech worker, but prime farmland seems to be falling prey to these sorts of facilities, and you can't eat servers.

    First the orchards of "the Valley of Heart's Delight" (I still haven't forgiven the loss of my favorite cherry orchards), and now they have come for our garlic.
