    Locked In!!! Surely Not!!!!

Ha.......but NO MENTION of NAT traversal!!!

So....my guess is that Couchbase are absolutely NOT talking about peer-to-peer here........

.....but much more likely talking about a nice litte (server-based) earner located at.......guess.......Couchbase!!!!

Please tell me that my cynicism is showing........and all those friendly Couchbase developers.....and all those lovely Couchbase users.......won't be paying through the nose till the end of time!

I'm more familiar with the open source Apache CouchDB project, but think the ideas are similar enough to hazard a guess at how it would work.

Mobile clients would likely connect to a central server, which could be self-hosted somewhere. Watch for updates, and sync up any new items from the mobile side, which the central server could then replicate to any other mobile clients.

Couchbase seems to have a bunch of information on their site though, perhaps more useful to read there than make strangely worded implications above.

Hi! I am pleased to say Couchbase Mobile does in fact support Peer-to-Peer!

Here's Couchbase Mobile docs on the topic for more information:
