back to article What are real organisations doing with zero trust?

Like many concepts in cyber-security, Zero Trust (hereafter "ZT") has come to prominence recently. The concept is reckoned to have first been used in the mid-1990s, though it came to prominence around 2010 and has really started to take off in the past three years or so. But when we say "take off", we don't really mean it's …

I now realise when I answered this I was thinking about Zero Knowledge rather than Zero Trust, which I know rather more about. When it comes to Zero Knowledge I have roughly zero knowledge, whereas I'm somewhat more trustworthy on Zero Trust.

I saw the title and assumed it was about the government.

"The concept is reckoned to have first been used in the mid-1990s"`

mid-1990's.... What? Forgive me, but I seem to recall a certain group of people building triangular shaped buildings 8,000 years ago.

If the survey's 1st question had: "ZeroTrust is this year's buzzword scam"... I would of participated.

P.S. I like how ZeroTrust wasn't defined in the article... the only way to win, is not to play.

El Register is catching the same disease as a lot of commenters...

You really like to hear yourself talk without saying anything, don't you El Reg?

For starters, and for practice for you, how about telling us all EXACTLY WHAT ZERO TRUST IS; what is meant by the very nebulous phrase "Zero Trust".

The first inclination would be that if it won't be defined clearly and explicitly, then it can't be, and absolutely MUST be marketing bullshit.

Yes, these are IT buzzwords used to garner clicks. These articles are essentially paid advertising... in this case, gathering marketing data with the survey.
