“Anything that can help reduce labor count or the need for labor is obviously a plus at this particular time,” said Steve Chmura

Thank God for prison labor with child labor coming in a poor second.

Reminds me of the old joke where a union representative was walking through a car plant with the plant manager who was showing off the new robotics.

The plant manager says to the union rep, "bet you are trying to figure out how to get these robots to join the union and pay dues?" To which the union rep replied, "no, I am trying to figure out how you are going to get them to buy cars."

    “IBM remains committed to Watson"

Right, that's it. When IBM remains committed to something, you can be sure they're shutting it down in the near future.

    We need an End-of-the-Line icon.

IMHO Watson is still a solution looking for a problem.

They built a chess computer at exorbitant cost, and are still failing to make it pay...

How IBM goes the way, drop their bset in hardware, transifer to a weak cloud business.

they can make the first 3nm/2nm chips, but their value even low than qualcomm.

IBM used incorrect technology without understanding what Natural Language needs: IBM annotates manually, instead of dictionary definitions. Here you have the result: IBM sells the most potentially lucrative branch.
