Sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm still struggling to understand.
It appears to me that cloud offerings make sense to players that work at a scale compatible with that of the providers themselves. E.g., a game company with subscriber counts in the tens of millions or something like that.
But for the vast majority of people, are they actually a good deal or wouldn't you just be better off with a couple of unmanaged VPS (or hosted hardware)?
Serious question.
