better for private industry to just step up and build competing foundries NOT in China and learn the obvious "do not put all eggs in one basket" object lesson.

yeah 'chiplets' too if it makes 'em happy. But we do NOT need GUMMUINT "gumming up" the electronics industry. Keep them OUT or EVERYONE suffers.

(keep in mind a great deal of this supply SNAFU, with ships parked too long off of the L.A. coastline as one example, may in fact be a DIRECT RESULT of GUMMINT being IN THE WAY, as usual, GUMMING things up and supplying plenty of red tape)

In other words, Google wants what is *convenient* for them to use to play one manufacturer against the other so they can gouge them all down to the lowest possible dollar instead of partnering with them *properly*.

Not to mention the fact that the Americans DO NOT get to dictate standards to the entire known world. They keep having delusions about that in the face of the EU, China, India, etc. having much bigger populations and high tech industries.

So...sounds like Google want's the US Government to help them club the chip makers into submission of what suits Google best. And they then go to great lengths to explain how the Government shouldn't afterwards actually enforce anything that might not suit Google best.

Funny, how one of the richest capitalist companies is so hip on spending taxpayer dollars to further their financial goals. Thanks Google, we're all rooting for you. To fail...
