Misleading headline
As it says in the article, when you hire people with Cloud it's kind of assumed they already have Linux as 80%+ of workloads on the Cloud are Linux based.

Also note the "desired skillsets" are expected to be there before they will even consider you.
"Finding those with the right skills is still challenging, however. 92 per cent of responding hiring managers said they had difficulty finding open-source talent, but only 88 per cent said they were willing to pay for certifications – and just 58 per cent said they were increasing training for existing employees, despite 92 per cent of employee respondents having requested more training."
Should we be surprised?? They want the skillset but expect you to pay for it yourself. Then, quite likely, not increase your pay enough to amortize your education costs across any time span known as "reasonable".
It's just another tick on the employment listing checkbox to make you, the developer / employee / applicant, reach even further for that last ray of hope.
