The board also includes a six-core Carmel ARMv8.2 64-bit CPU. Xiaomi says it's also used …

That thing looks terrifying. If I found one in my house, I would beat/shoot/stab it into smoking rubble.

    Open Source

    Source??

Despite much trumpeting by Xiaomi of this mutt being Open Source, I can't find the open source designs anywhere.

I highly doubt they'd have the important bits like the neural network weights.

Depressingly typical. Fanfare, launch, 'open source', reluctant push of a few drawings and a crappily forked OS that'll never build.

Nice to see they've optimised out the more depressing stages.

Also, since Intel have just canned their Realsense cameras and team, " Intel ® RealSense™ D450 Depth module" doesn't look like a long term winner.

Remember, kids: Intel shit up an abandon any market they enter.

Sadly, I fear that the Chinese translation of "Open Source" seems to be

"We have shamelessly plagiarised various designs that Western Gwailos have carelessly given to us for free - how Communist of them. Now they will see the fruits of their own technology as they are exterminated to make way for the Party"

Just add some Terminator-looking fangs and things that can rip and tear.

Will be great to keep ne'er-do-wells away.

And if you do purchase such an abomination, pray that it do not go rogue on you.

    My first thought too. <shudders>

Xiaomi, please give it a cute, friendly face and different colour scheme.

The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 series of mobile phones come in a range of colours.

I love my Nighttime Blue one, although it's more of a (pleasant) Dusk Blue!
