back to article Not very sage rage over UK pay outage: Opayo says 'ohheyno' as payment processor's payments stop processing

Opayo, the payment processor formerly known as Sage Pay, has not been having a great Thursday, as an unknown systems failure took its systems offline - preventing customers from accepting any payments. The biz is no small beans: it provides payment processing for companies including Europcar, Krispy Kreme, easyJet, Bunches, …

It's a bit much when your DDoS protection denies you service.

    Is that a big "O"?

What are these companies thinking when they rebrand?

Big O to most IT practitioners will put thoughts of complexity and the processing time to complete a calculation into their minds.

It's all well and good to complain

If you're so unhappy with their services, what the hell are you doing still using them ?

Are there no other choices out there ? Is it that difficult to do a search on Internet ?

It beggars belief that commercial entities today can provide an apparently consistently shitty service, and yet people still continue paying them for their shitty service.

I mean, why has TSB not shut its doors ? Why is TalkTalk still in existence ? These massive failures still have customers, for frack's sake !

Because there's a sucker born every minute, a fool & his money are soon parted, and those that refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it? Put them all together & you rake in millions from the Darwin Award candidates.

Re: It's all well and good to complain

It's probably all the companies that have out of date (magento 1) websites for which the current payment gateway (SagePay) works but for which new ones will not so they're stuck.

      Anon because well...

Because the suits making the decisions over which products to use aren’t the techies dealing with the fallout from the shit decisions they make. There’s so much shit I deal with day to day because long since fired contract “architects” sold a bum idea to our management, who then won’t admit that they were given crap advice.
