    Even if present management has every such intention there's no guarantee that a future management will.

    They may be "complimentary companies", but sweet talking doesn't make a business model. Better they were complementary.

    ...make it a watertight legally binding contract...including any name changes, mergers or future sales.

    ARM's Dev Summit

    ARM's (or Nvidia's) devs are told what the companies want them (and the press) to believe. There's no question that the merged company would be a stronger entity than the separate companies. The question is what will they do with their power?

    Without concrete and enforceable limits as part of the merger approval, the answer is anything they want.
