back to article TikTok wins reprieve as judge rules it can stay in American iOS, Android app stores for now

Made-in-China social video app TikTok has convinced a US judge it should remain in American app stores for the foreseeable future – dodging a ban that would have seen it expelled from Google Play and Apple's app store from midnight on Sunday US time. A Sunday order [PDF] by justice Carl J Nichols of the United States District …

    A quick & dirty plan.

Pull out of America until after the elections. If the temper tantrum throwing idiot gets voted out & the next leader rescinds all those bullshit executive orders then move back & resume business as normal. If he gets reelected then don't come back, establish a new home for that branch in somewhere more hospitable to doing business and consider the move as a win.

Either the idiot/rules go and you can come back or the idiot/rules stay in place and you prevent him from stealing your business out from under you.

If China decides to mirror the treatment to all American corporations operating in China then there won't be a damned thing the idiot can do about it since it's just using his own rules. If he doesn't like them then he can either retract them or fuck right off.

      Elections

Isn't he just trying to get it "out of the way" for the elections as "revenge" for the way it was used to damage one of his rallies?

        Absolutely.

A very mature move. For a toddler, that is.

      Nah

What Tiktok ought to do is donate a bunch of money to one of the groups helping register young people to vote. That would really piss him off, suddenly he would think "foreign interference" in our elections is a bad thing. He only thinks it is "fine" when the foreign interference is helping him.

If they're going to go down, they should go down fighting.

Managing to try and blame it on everyone else to take the heat of his own incompetency.

Remember when he suggested people might be able to use strong light and disinfectant 'internally' to kill the virus? Of course sarcastically as all good presidents do at press conferences in the middle of a pandemic
