    That explains why Cunard has been unable to answer phones etc for the last few days. At least all the ships are parked up at the moment - imagine if several thousand people were trying to board one right now.

    When you went on a cruise you expected spear fishing, not spear phishing. Welcome to the new reality where no data is safe.

    Kudos to Carnival for releasing this information almost immediately and for the steps they say they've taken so far.

    Still, I'll wait and see how it turns out.

    Although the bad new was filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Wonder if any of the affected customers have been informed yet?

    At time of posting there's nothing on the front page of Carnival's website, where the first headline states: "Extraordinary Experiences, Lifelong Memories Ahead".

    Like having your bank account and credit cards emptied from stolen data perhaps?
