Unfortunately Boeing was an early innovator of IBM's redundancy methodology, and once the early order crunch was over, dad was out along with some sizeable chunk of other staff that moved into the area just to work there (eventually prompting the famous "...last person leaving Seattle..." billboard https://www.historylink.org/File/1287 ). Which was OK, he eventually went on to work on to documenting other interesting projects, such as a submarine recovery system "for Howard Hughes".
