    It's almost like people don't enjoy being bombarded with privacy invading ads every 10 seconds. Who'dathunk it?

      Not anything to do with user preferences

      The drop in advertising related income is not due to poeple disliking ads in pages. It is due to more and more business cutting down on their advertising budget due to ... you know, pandemics and all that.

        Disliking ads leads to ad-blockers which could also contribute. There might be a third factor. Remember all that business about advertisers boycotting FB? Maybe it's spilling over; advertisers starting to wonder why they're spending so much on adverts generally.

        are running neck and neck in a two horse race (microsoft pulled up at the first fence) to see who is the most evil company in the world when it comes to our privacy and their constant bombardment of it.

          Facebook tops the axis of evil list and its competitor for top spot is Amazon, not Google.

          Google and Microsoft are competing for a bronze medal.
