    Still Expensive

    However you look at it, whilst VMware does do a lot of good stuff however it is still mind-bogglingly expensive.

    In these times of financial constraint it is going to become increasingly difficult to justify the huge costs to run VMware when there are significantly cheaper (or free) offerings. This is particularly true where there are extensive Microsoft licensing and support deals in place.

    The arguments that it is more efficient, more features and so no can only go so far with finance teams that only ever see requests for more money from IT.
