back to article Google rolls out Titan keys to Europe, Japan. Plus: Group Policy bug is a feature, not a flaw, says Microsoft

It's once again time for a security news summary. Let's get to it. Student accused of hacking crimes cleared... to attend Swiss hackathon A college student from Zimbabwe who was hit with eight criminal hacking counts will still get to represent his school at a UN hackathon. Banned without appeal, you say?

The New York Times reported: "He said that the embassy official had told him that the threat that surfaced could be related to something he was involved in, people he had been in contact with, places he had visited, hotels at which he had stayed, or a pattern of relations among those."

I hope there's a human somewhere who knows why, and it's not just, "Computer says no".

Well, that easily narrows it down.

    We don't want your kind

Things are just fine here. Trump and his Justice Department have everything under control. Nothing to to find here. Non-Russians may not in the guise of help, sabotage the perfect security system which only we have. However, if you have information on the four hundred pound hacker living in his mother's basement, call the FBI.

    Odd turn of phrase

    "for an unrelated sex scandal"

Having sex with someone to whom she wasn't related? Was this in the "freer" Southern states perhaps :-)

    "this scathing analysis"

That link no longer resolves. I get a 410 error with a message that states "This post is under investigation or was found in violation of the Medium Rules".

It seems that his report was a tad too scathing for the tastes of the website moderator.

Pity. The next time, you might want to think of keeping a copy of things you link to. The Internet is not, in fact, eternal.

It's not archived at archive.org, either. Well, that's another couple of reasons not to use medium.com.

    Google locks out Apple users

Before ordering that shiny Titan key from Google and enabling Google Advanced Account Protection you may want to consider if you really want to lock yourself out from all Google services on your iPhone, AppleTV etc. Turns out the ad-giant didn't bother mentioning that its AAP is not quite there yet on the iOS platform. Loads of users complaining and a single developer promising that the advertisers are working on a fix: https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/13082621?hl=en (or search for "I enrolled to Advanced Protection, now I can't log in with iPhone and Smart Lock app")
