    Vaguely annoyingly, that script has to be run after every reboot and every time the hardware is detached and reattached.

    An IoT device that can be remotely updated doesn't sound very secure to me, especially if it's your front-door lock.

    Obvious what's happening

    I think it ought to be pretty obvious now to anyone with a brain cell what Microsoft are up to.

    They are planning, in the long term, to replace the Windows NT kernel with a Linux kernel.

    Windows in future will be like Android; another proprietary graphical user interface layer running on top of a Linux kernel.
