I imagine China is making sure that it has domestic suppliers for all the vital ingredients, and will be willing to sell them to anyone that is having a problem with western suppliers. That's the nice thing about the Chinese - they aren't going to let politics get in the way of making money.
Yes, as a matter of national security any nation that has the resources (natural, technical and financial) should develop the ability to complete important supply chains. As a Canadian, I'm pointing at my own country. If Trump has highlighted anything it is that no other country can be counted on as a suppler of anything, especially military and high tech equipment.
To be fair, due Corporations being allowed to write and set their own tax deductions and loopholes, I'm not sure Canada has the financial ability to do the above.
War sucks, war is brutal, war is desperate, war murders everyone, war isn't fair, and there are no good people in a war. Get over WWII. If there's anything to learn, it's to avoid war. With China and N. Korea getting stronger, now would be a good time for Japan and S. Korea to become better friends. This growing resentment is way too easy to exploit.
