back to article Register Lecture: The Death of the Gods – through a tweet darkly

It has been 10 years since the Orange One burst onto Twitter and today not only does US President Trump wage an unprecedented personal war against his enemies through the social platform but the media reports his tweets as news and some outlets recycle his claims as "facts", thereby closing the feedback loop. All you know about me is what I've sold you, Commentard.

I sold out long before you'd ever even heard my name.

I sold my soul to make a website, dipshit, then you read it...

      (apologies to Tool...).

Fooling All of the People All of the Time is an Epic Operational Folly....

    .... with Catastrophic Unintended Consequences?

Co-founder and research director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media at left-leaning think tank Demos, Carl will take you on a tour of UK cybercrime factories, explore industrial fake-news outlets in the Balkans and journey inside the topsy turvy world of Russia's hybrid war that uses disinformation, sock puppets, and - yes - fake news to wrong-foot the truth.

Hmmmm? ..... Here's another one of magical mystery tours leading to nowhere worthwhile and incredibly costly ...... given what can be gleaned about how everything can be made to work crazily ....... How Did Russiagate Begin ....... to the tune of blind fools with blunted tools?

And to be really honest, there are no questions anywhere there.

I'll be down the local, in a corner with my pint, watching the next generation of world changers. I was with the last lot.
