    Nothing to worry about

Rolled out 1903 across the estate and it's running sweet as a nut

You mad fool! I'm hoping by 'estate', you mean that big Ford Monedo you've got sitting out back, because anyone rolling out ANY Windows 10 feature update in an enterprise within 6 months of launch is just crazy. Literally stark, staring mad.

I already have peeps in the IT Dept on 20H1 to smoke out issues.

Why? You should be very happy there are people testing Windows for you...

19H1 (not 1903 because they can't keep deadlines) AKA Windows Veruca Salt Edition.

So, ignoring the instructions that this is for test installs only?

"In a frantic bid to stop affected users switching back to Chrome"

How long's this build been out for, a week? Do users leap from one browser to another like a toddler with ADHD jumping all over the sofa or is it me getting long in the tooth?

Re: "In a frantic bid to stop affected users switching back to Chrome"

Personally I'm quite OK with a status quo unless the reasons to change are really compelling (and "it's cool" doesn't cut it for me). If I were to jump on every fad anyone ever came up with I couldn't get any work done.

Also, why on Earth anyone would feel compelled to pollute their MacOS with anything more than MS Office is beyond me. Trying to join two substantially different approaches to risk is madness.

Presumably some kind of automatic bookmark migration is being planned… I think MS is no longer bound by the browser restrictions.

    Thumb Down

I tried 1903 via the update assistant and twice it failed with no reason given.

A quick search in my logs I found a 'delightful' XML file with oodles of lines of misdirection to finally find the bork.

Found it was USB external storage the first time and then a old copy of a uninstalled battleye client .exe I had in a spare drive doing nothing. So it rather unhelpfully scans your entire system regardless.

Came across a spelling error in the logs. "waitting" is very common. Who writes this stuff!?

Got to love Microsoft not putting a user friendly frontend to failures. Too much bother was it?

How the devil will non-experts cope!

    Duckduckgo on Firefox 67

Has anyone else had problems getting search results displayed (brief flash of results page then blank browser window) since the 67.0 firefox update? All my extensions are working again but ddg search screwup is damn annoying.

No and it's most likely an extensions issue, disable them all and try again.

    Sure, MSW7...

Nu-Edge for older versions of Windows, however, remains missing in action for the time being, although a Windows 7 build, leaked from the increasingly sieve-like Edge team, has been doing the rounds.

What, no Linux build? I thought MS were all touchy-feely in love with Linux now? Don't wanna share the pain privilege with us as well?

edge for macos... yeah i'll be there are tons of mac users just waiting to install edge ...

It's a move towards migrating all Office users into an Office 365 $ubscription, Accessible only through Edge.

    Very Interesting....

If you look at the feedback channels for chromium Edge then the most complained about thing is the UI. Something I fear MS are never going to change as they could have altered the UI for Windows to match fluent design. There is very little in the way of compelling reasons to use the new Edge over another more mature chromium browser like Vivaldi or Brave. Unless MS can do something different fairly quickly then I fear this is just a pointless waste of time.

You want me to instal WTF on my MBP?!?
