back to article Cosmoboffins use neural networks to build dark matter maps the easy way

Spinning up dark matter simulations is computationally expensive so a team of cosmologists are turning to AI models instead. Generative adversarial networks or GANs are good at learning patterns from data and reproducing them in new samples. In this case, the team led by researchers from the Lawrence Berkeley National …

Apart from minds being imaginative rather than imaginary, AC, that pretty much covers all bases with the gems and nuggets of the truth for the lesser fiction needed and struggling to make a much greater sense of it all.

      Bravo, Sir and/or Madam.

GANs offer hope of being nearly as accurate compared to full physics simulations.

Similar in quality to "shows promise", "may lead to", "have the potential to" and "within the next decade". Add explanation of dark matter to list headed by commercial fusion and flying cars. A much different reaction would have been elicited on Friday, but it's Monday...

.. modelling fantasy matter that only exists to fill holes ...

One might, for example, consider the neutrino, and how it was discovered because it wasn't there.

Using machine learning to create synthetic simulation results is an interesting concept, though.

"If you have a peak in a convergence map that corresponds to a peak in a large amount of matter along the line of sight, that means there is a huge amount of dark matter in that direction.”

Lies, damn lies, and statistics, of which overfitting due to a wrong basic equation is a subdomain.

You can make anything work if you simply use enough free variables - and make all kinds of crazy claims for what they mean - in the search for grant money picked from our pockets.

It takes more than imaginary minds to make sense of the quantum entanglement of current zero day exploitation and great game shenanigans operating outside of the law, with undeniable plausible deniability.

Here’s food for thought, and to quote -

“The carefully written 2011 document says that the UK does “not participate in, solicit, encourage or condone the use of torture”, a violent practice it notes there is “an absolute prohibition of … [in] international law”.

Makes one wonder whether active participants and daily drivers being the blind sum rather than the whole seeing force realise their inclusion in psychological operations and such torture techniques, surely something to be exponentially learned in the moulding of potential pet puppetry, and new joint venture agencies under careful consultation is it not?

When as a country falls to such unparalleled lows as dehumanisation and peer pressured into such activities has humanity not learned from historical holocausts prior to emerging untainted by such?, and if ever deemed acceptable such would be setting unparalleled precedent.

Perhaps a lower arm tattoo inscribing ‘11’ would be no stranger thing in adjective reality, as was once said, the truth will set you free, but in all aspects of alternative reality, the three things that can never truly be hidden are indeed the Sun, the Moon and the Truth.

For those enlightened enough to see the script, just follow our friend AP = Alan Partridge, Thor burn, Da Vinci Code applies to Thor, and Burn as in SIM psons, all part of the great game!

And whenever GAN Command and Control is Already Ancient Done Dealed, What is Next Done?

GANs are notoriously difficult to train, however, and the researchers hope to be able to create new virtual universes with properties they can control.

“The idea of doing controllable GANs is essentially the Holy Grail of the whole problem that we are working on: to be able to truly emulate the physical simulators we need to build surrogate models based on controllable GANs,” said Mustafa Mustafa, coauthor of the paper and a machine learning engineer at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center at Berkeley Lab.

“Right now we are trying to understand how to stabilize the training dynamics, given all the advances in the field that have happened in the last couple of years. Stabilizing the training is extremely important to actually be able to do what we want to do next.”

Is that for AI Experimentation and Live Operational Virtual Environments?

Anybody basking here a fan of "The Master and Margarita" a la Mikhail Bulgakov ..... a 1984 Clone/ Drone/Variation on Steroids and Acid? You know, Lunatics in Charge of the Asylum for Madness and Mayhem, Current CHAOS and Future Constructions on Virtually Realised Platforms. And is that Catch 22 and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Territory too?

Most definitely extremely difficult and next to impossible to stabilise for command of, .... well, their devilish control would be a heavenly asset, methinks..

To identify dark matter, you need understand its origins.

Peak your interest for answers to this dark matter conundrum by reviewing an alternative theory of the universe from a more 4th dimensional perspective. This concept was previously approached in the book, 'The Evolutioning of Creation: Volume 2', copyrighted in 2011. As the predominant condition of the universe is a combination of dark energy and dark matter (i.e., massless matter or negative mass density), then the existence of our universe [or positive mass density] is more of an intrusion upon this norm. Such is it that positive density mass (i.e., baryonic mass) provides for a displacement effect, which is expressed as if the positive mass has intruded upon the inertial condition of the space-time continuum.

You can peak your interest for answers to this mystery from the perspective of the science fiction novel, 'Shadow-Forge Revelations'. As science fiction imitates science theory, this novel discusses how dark energy and dark matter interplays with the concept of the expanding universe from the inception of its creation.
