At the end of the day, western companies cannot compete with China's (price) "dumping" in western countries. The reason why (western companies can't compete) is because they're too happy to sub-contract manufacturing to China (and don't forget to throw in the source code as an added bonus).
To be honest, I see this as a fight between the lesser-of-two-evils: Chinese-branded products which cost a fraction of western-branded products or expensive western-branded products that barely pay the right amount of taxes.
So, in the end, the Americans are in a lose-lose situation.
The city of Baltimore’s woes were all over the US media this weekend. Oh poor me, I’m a victim. Too bad, the FBI and several federal agencies published an interagency warning to government agencies; federal, state and municipalities. In the warning, the FBI recommended having an offline copy of data to recover from an in case of a destructive attack.
Can only imagine the pinheads in Baltimore decided to save a few bucks.... or maybe they were holding out for a grant of other people’s money.

That is one hell of a code smell. It might even outrank "New Jersey" and "Times Square on New Year's Day" in stinkiest thing ever observed by a human being.
Sure, its a bit of a trivial problem that only affects a small number of people, but all the failure that has to happen for this bug to exist is staggering.
