Veritas's support services unit, overseen by executive veep Lenny Alugas's Customer Success organization, will reduce its headcount and redeploy workers, company insiders have told The Register. "The Veritas office referred to is in Heathrow, Florida not Heathrow, England."
Just as well. If it was Heathrow, England it would be at risk of being flattened at some time in the next few years or a few years after that. After Boris, of course. He's still going to get flattened first by lying down in front of the bulldozers. He's still going to do that, isn't he? Isn't he?
Moving your support to India. Despite so many people hating having to deal with Indian call centres. Not because of a racism issue but because Indian calls centres appear to be trained to NEVER break away from the script. Which is annoying!
Way to make people avoid your software even more.
Like many companies, Veritas makes operational changes and staff realignments when our customers, products or services require them
So it's customers who are driving the change then? so it has nothing to do with you cutting costs?
Any changes we make will not lessen our customers' quality of support
Indian call centre but there will be no changes to quality of support? hmmmmm.
After Symantec sold veritas to private equity owners the old/new entity struggled to keep execs and have a consistent or thoughtful strategy for any amount of time. They attracted new hires by telling them we would IPO, but thats not going to happen now. They shut down old development centers where they have experienced and loyal employees to open new development centers in new cities competing against top tech companies for very expensive talent. They started new products and killed new products. They expanded into new markets and then decided to double down on enterprise backup. They would build multiple new offerings that competed against each other in the same space only to kill them when some of them didn’t succeed. Leadership craps on employees and on customers. Veritas is absolutely sinking. As an employee i advise customers to stay away because current leadership doesn’t care about you or about making veritas a sustainable business. They only care about getting their bonus for achieving 40% margin so PE owners can salvage an ROI. You will be risking your job by investing your organization’s time and money in veritas technology at this point. It’s a ticking time bomb.
Only IPO Veritas is hitting is: "Intentionally P*ssing Off" - that's for all their customers on everything but Netbackup... but the dimwits up top don't seem to realize that customers own Netbackup AND other products that are now in the slow decline, offshore and leave to die pile - how will those Netbackup customers feel when they are really getting different levels of support across the products?
The goal is clear with the last two years, wind down InfoScale & EV an sell it off. Who will buy these products that are losing customers and have no experienced engineering teams?
The only constant at Veritas is redundancy and new execs every quarter - feel sorry for customers who've invested into the non-netbackup products.
