Appending -gate to anything under the sun is just dumb though.
"Watergate" was a hotel and the story around it has clear politicial connotations and the smell of corruption in high spheres. No political connection anywhere here, just the usual low-brow smash-and-grabbing.
Would anyone call an event whereby dumb brownshirts smash up H&R stores under the name of anti-racism "H&R-gate"? Well, maybe. It is 2018.

Isn't this a lovely casting for the "USA Teenage Idol". Makes you wonder under which bridge they found the director and the screenwriter for that. But c'est la vie, enemy has to be vilified by all means necessary.

One of the reasons the CIA found it better to offer freedom and asylum whilst the KGB used honey pots was because Russia was and still is - as Trump would put it - a sh*thole no-one in their right mind would want to "escape" to.
Because they don't know that is what is happening. It's "magic" how when the iPhone breaks a new one automatically gets rebuilt once the account details are entered, or that they can access the same data on their iPad or iMac etc.
It never crosses their minds to wonder how all that happens.
In my iPhone days I took a picture of a plant at my local nursery. Next thing I know that phone is making daily backups to Apple of 'em crappy pics and decimating my monthly bandwidth allowance.
(Laugh all you want but I live in a backward country where we pay the mobile tsotsi's, er.., operators through the nose for a very modest amount of monthly mobile hinternet access).
