    We can add the pairing of Silver Lake and Broadcom to the ten bidders for part or while stakes in Toshiba’s memory business.

    Isn't Toshiba in sorry enough state already for SL to try to load more debt onto it?

      Toshiba gets the 2 trillion yen

      Toshiba, the conglomerate, is in a deep hole mostly because of losses at Westinghouse. Silver Lake would pay Toshiba (conglomerate) 2 trillion yen cash to plug that hole.

      Siver Lake and Broadcom would create a joint venture and that joint venture would borrow money to pay Toshiba and get the memory division in return. It's that joint venture, not Toshiba that would end up with the debt.
