      You forgot to add,

In a location that will soon/eventually/maybe free from interference from Bruxelles.

Far easier to cough, cough strike a deal with HM Treasury so that they don't pay any Tax.

Personally, I'd rather the likes of Snapchat, Instagram etc to just fall into a hole and get burried but apparently some millenials like to use them.

Is this a U-turn on the Silicon Roundabout?

I can't say I ever read much, if any, cheerleading for the Silicon Roundabout from Andrew before Brexit. What event has occurred to make it worthy of pompoms and confetti?

Maybe Andrew wants to date a cheerleader?

So an business promoting itself on communication security bases part of its operation in GCHQ-land? Presumably its servers are elsewhere, or isn't it going to tell its customers about their communications being logged?

I suspect this is maybe the post Brexit Britain instance: this is where companies go in Europe to pretend they offer privacy.

      Next: Google and Facebook.

Because Britain needs more investment in under-resourced London

I can see why Snapchat chose London, but there needs to be more investment outside the city. About the best thing you can say is that this kind of investment will raise local prices, which will push some other activity out London to other areas of Britain.

Does anyone know how many more jobs over the existing 75 this means?

They already expanded the London staff not too long ago.

      1,000,000

None of them selling anything of course, all just using the companies IP.

I'm fascinated by all those people that believe the Brexit a done deal already, and thus conclude that it had no ill effect.

Equally, the reverse of that statement is also true.

Well, if you read just the front page headlines of The Express or Daily Mail AND NOT listen to the rants of you know who on LBC then it is quite possible to think BREXIT is already done and dusted.

Sadly, a good percentage of the population seem to do just that.

They have to - that way you get government money.

No doubt they'll bail (with that money) as quickly as the people that voted for Brexit as soon as reality sets in.

How does Snapchat generate reveue such that it's valued at around $20 billion?

Yea, it's a well known physics property that electrons change their properties when crossing Channel.

Hey, don't knock it! It's US VC money being spent in the UK. It might offset some of the trade deficit.

According to this, it's advert generated:

"Snapchat appears to want to change up the terms."

Although, I think what he means by 'change up' is alter the terms of the contract.

Come off it. The whole point of Brexit (for Murdoch, Desmond, Dacre & co) was that a single government in Westminster would be much easier to push around than the big guy in Brussels.
