    Tipping over, if they don't get their act together.

    Private ownership helps, normally... but not when the majority owner is a VC milking a successful startup to death. Is that essentially Apollo's game?

    why does 'The Register' never disclose it's relationship with Rackspace?

    After all, The Registers reson d'etre is transparency.

      What relationship - as a mere hosting customer?

      Former customer, apparently.. http://www.rackspace.co.uk/customers/register in search results but the page is gone. Apparently they forgot to update their Dutch site, as http://www.rackspace.nl/customers/register still works (in English). Like I said they don't have their act together.

    It seems like they are at a crossroads. I'll give them credit though for figuring out that they are not going to win a price, or tech, war with AWS and Google.
