    Sadly, like X-IO's other efforts, it will probably remain a technically-cool but not-completely-finished idea that never sees mass-market adoption.

    Deceptive lead-in...

    I don't see anywhere in the article where this falls under hyper-converged. There's a mention late in the write-up that it's possible sometime in the future a few of the hyperconverged players could put their code on top of this hardware, but at the moment it's a hardware stack. If the performance numbers are correct, it's impressive, but not hyper-converged.
