back to article Phew! No evidence found for global criminal hacker conspiracy

Trend Micro security bods have 'capped' their epic research efforts to catalogue the world's regional cybercrime undergrounds. The mammoth effort saw researchers crawl through criminal forums in five countries, documenting the nuances of each as they went. The security outfit's forward-looking threat research team detail the …

Of course not! It wouldn't be a proper conspiracy otherwise!

Yep, no evidence since the 5-eyes don't count themselves as hackers.

BTW, the cover page of the report somehow reminds me of the "elevator shaft" in John Cerpenter's Dark Star.

    How many went walkabout?

Especially given the piece in El Reg just the other day about recruitment into the upper echelons of criminal computing, it would be interesting to know how many of Trend Micro's obviously highly skilled multilingual analysts took the opportunity for a slight change of career path while they were engaged in this research.

But then who made this video?

Well if there is no secret super groups of anonymous hackers, who made this?:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_crXt_xJQQ

Apparently this is a group of hackers who are fighting alongside other groups from around the world such as Op9Nigeria to free Africa from the tyranny of child labour and corruption. They even have nice logos and flashy graphics and a twitter tags.

So the police cannot find hacker groups, but hacker groups manage to communicate between each other without problem. Ergo there must be some sort of underground SPECTRE like network they communicate over! An organization of Cyber criminals. Everyone all trusted crooks, verified to be not spies or police. With punishment powers, to settle disagreements between groups and ensure they don't squeal to the fuzz.

It's only logic that such a network exists. I saw a documentary on it recently:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2293640/

Well either that, or a bunch of government PR people had a group wank and decided to put up videos purporting to come from 'Anonymous' as a front for their government propaganda.
