    Good to hear

    Although some people might be a bit cynical about this, it's good to know that they are actually trying to do something to make sure that they are ready for when things go wrong.

    I was talking to the chief exec of a local government body about 18 months ago, and he admitted that when they had such exercises, you could be forgiven for thinking no-one had ever heard of the plans, let alone read them. Even their regular fire drills would often show a poor state of preparedness.

    But hopefully, this particular exercise will be used to develop a more practical test (or tests).

      It obviously can't hurt. Personally, even if the exercise is a shambles, it still will result in better awareness for all involved.

      Fire drills are an accepted nuisance for a risk that is actually not all that common. This should become a regular occurence because, if I am not mistaken, the risk is far larger.
