Hate to say it, but this is a very disjointed article.

I realize that reading Mr. Martin's earlier article gives much more background but still some of the details could have been included here, also.

What does the JPM chart show that is relevant to this article? If there is something it should be pointed out. Also the HBR (Harvard Business Review) segment seemed somewhat non-sequitorial.

Re: Hate to say it, but this is a very disjointed article.

I think the chart was included to show that JPMC stock prices didn't suffer, hence also the reference to the Harvard Business Review's claim that data breaches "don't hurt stock prices" due to shareholders lacking "good metrics, tools, and approaches to measure the impact of cyber attacks on businesses and translate that into a dollar value."

Which rings true to me - I have the impression that 1) a lot of stock holders don't even know which industry the companies they invest in belongs to 2) for quite a while now stock prices are only vaguely related to the real world.

Which is a pity, as the threat of losing money is a strong incentive to invest in IT security and would give at least some leverage to the IT departments.

Otherwise, yes, the article is a bit uneven, without having read something about the case before it would have left me a bit puzzled, I guess.

Open the attachment (message_zdm.pdf) and follow the instructions.

Oh bugger.. that will be it PhisherMen reading the news... err.

So... How many 'bankers' and associated underlings, assuming the 'bankers' have not provided the training or IT support required to deal with the issue, are going to fall for that one?

    Hint... It just takes 'one'.

Still I suppose I can expect another 14 over the next few hours along with various .exe .scr and macro infected .doc .xls files so I can add the associated open proxies or otherwise to IPTables.

Right.. I think I'll just pay a visit to nhchoices and do a bit of research on rectal herpes gonorrhoea smelly discharge with bleeding and pick up a double-click and facebook cookie on the way along with some others.

Perhaps they can analyse my condition and try to sell me some socks.
