Between 60-80 per cent of respondents were happy for ISPs to manage data traffic in order to keep their net experience stable, but slightly fewer, 50-70 per cent, were happy for applications to be prioritised for users who pay extra for this type of service.

In other news, motorists were in favour of speed limits as long as they didn't get slowed down themselves, and were happy with the idea of building toll roads to reduce congestion on their local roads, as long as someone else paid and the local roads remained free of charge to them.

It would be interesting to see the questions in the survey. It's very easy to prove anything with the right inputs:

Do you want:

a) Lots of internet for a low price, with well managed network profiling to keep it stable,

b) Slow internet where everything is broken and it costs more, and the young'uns watching porn can make Granny's 999 call drop off, leaving her to die cold and alone on the kitchen floor.

The first one is QoS which is generally thought to be a good thing, the second one is users being extorted by their ISP which is generally thought to be a bad thing. Pretty simple I would have thought.

Streaming video is okay on a 50GB cap? :-O

I use Amazon Prime and was catching up with a couple of series last month, and we watched a few films. We breezed past the 350GB by the middle of May, I didn't actually look again at the end of the month...

Surely the results of the survey have to be a contender for the "No sh*t Sherlock" awards ?

I think most people see the point of "neutrality" - as long as you don't actually talk about it, and especially don't use any even vaguely technical terms, at which point their eyes glaze over and an attitude of "meh" takes over.
