    LEO High-N High Bandwidth constellations coming soon

    There are several major players moving towards enveloping the planet in Iridium-like constallations of broadband satellites. Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Google, perhaps that MS guy whatshisname.

    Within ten years, broadband connectivity anywhere will be a totally solved problem, provided you don't mind 5 GB a month for $200.

    Can Windows Server Update Services run on Win7 Home Premium?

    It might be worthwhile using WSUS to cache the updates for your users.

      Or disable automatic updates and have someone mail you a DVD every month.

    Something from left field

    How about using Thinstuff XP/VS server and turn a single machine into a terminal server - make that your local target with dumb terminals, or linux, or whatever suits. Updates happening on one beefier machine, easier to manage etc etc. Downsides are single point of failure, (and pretty sure Thinstuff is not welcomed by Microsoft).
