Yeah, whatever
Anyone with half a brain can't take Yatsenyuk (Nuland's "man") seriously. Same applies to the other extremist egg-heads currently running Ukraine.
A pro-Russian group has claimed responsibility for attacks that floored German government websites on Wednesday, although Ukraine's PM is pointing the figure at Russia itself. Hacktivists from CyberBerkut1 blockaded the websites of the Bundestag and Chancellor Merkel's office, demanding Berlin end support for the Ukrainian …
Whovever downvoted this was not following the news.
The man sees the long hand of the Kremlin in every shadow and blames the Kremlin for everything. He seriously needs some medication for his paranoya instead of getting extra aid. Further to this, giving someone that loon military aid is a recipe for disaster on par with arming the Iraq army and Syrian "rebels".
The reality on the other hand is very simple. As Putin succinctly put it: "If we wanted it, our troops could put the Russian flag on top of Kiev parliament building in a fortnight". So if he id really use govt resources the website of the Bundestag would have been still offline today and offline for the foreseeable future.
Due to the recent fall in the rouble FX rate I have managed to negotiate a better fee - they now pay a whole rouble for that.
But be it as it may, for the life of me, I cannot take a man with the face like Yats' seriously. He is a big PR fuck up for the US Government, if only they'd admit it...
Ooh! a whole rouble. What does that buy you today? (What did it buy you yesterday? And will it buy you anything tomorrow?) ;-)
No doubt the CIA is as busy in Ukraine as the FSB but I don't see Yatseniuk as their man; I think the success of his party in the parliamentary elections caught a lot of people by surprise.
As for PR fuck ups: it's difficult to top giving the thugs in eastern Ukraine anti-aircraft missiles and letting them slip their FSB handlers log enough to shoot down a commercial plane full of Dutch passengers. That really gave carte blanche to CIA and the rest to arm Ukraine.
Yes, Putin could send troops into Kiev any time but he could never hope to hold it. Who knows: the result of the misguided belligerence may even see the French aircraft carriers lease-loaned to Ukraine and stationed in Odessa…

I don't think anything like that has happened. The US has dropped the ball on their Middle Eastern front and, for now at least, added "fuck the Ukraine" to their "fuck the EU" doctrine.
"Putin could send troops into Kiev any time but he could never hope to hold it."
I would not be so sure about the latter. People in Kiev feel no more love towards the crooks that run them now than to those who used to do that before. They may well accept a Russian intervention if it's done quickly and bloodlessly. The Western Ukrainians probably won't but by then it will be too late.

French. French?! Ain't going to happen.
Anyway, if any do show up they will keep suffering from unfortunate accidents until they either burn, sink or sail back (and that presumes that the WW3 will not have started by then).
Things like that are not a way out of this crisis.
"Assaults against German government websites are a daily occurrence."
Assaults against all websites are a daily occurrence. It's like background radiation. Probably .gov websites attract a better class of hacker than the lot who are currently rattling my doorknobs though...I feel almost embarrassed for them.
I can see attacking a commercial site for any ID, financial, etc. data by crims. But other than bragging rights, what's the point of hitting a government website? Sure, it might disrupt some citizen's affairs such as applying for benefits... but they can always go to the local office if need be.
It is all bragging rights.
Foreign relations aren't all that much different than a bunch of drunks fighting in a bar: they'll swear loyalty to other (I love you man...) and in the same breath make death threats (..but I'll fuckin' cut ya!) then follow up it up with boasts about their combat skills and assets (I can take you all on, I have a black belt in Jui-jit-su!)
