On the day after Christmas
Maybe we could have a new carol
On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me
A DDoS attack
etc.
On the day after Christmas, Anonymous dumped out 13,000 credit card numbers and account details for a host of popular websites, but an analysis of the package by security experts shows that most of the data has been available online for ages. The dump was carried out "for the lulz," according to an Anonymous Twitter account. …
Okay, you asked for it.
Blah blah blah up to the final verse, covering everything, which goes:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:
Twelve spammy emails,
Eleven open relays,
Ten data breaches,
Nine DDOSes,
Eight privacy gaffs,
Seven government snoops,
Six bugs in crypto,
Five botnet rings,
Four hack attacks,
Three phish attempts,
Two password dumps,
And some malware for my PC!
"The real Anonymous or just some anonymous anonymous." Yeah, funny how that 'global non-hierarchical organisation without leaders' turns out to have a very identifiable and consistent core of 'non-leaders' 'not controlling' everything. As is remarked by the expert in the article:
"I'd also question the authenticity of this actually being Anonymous. It doesn't look like something they would do. Usually when they release data it's for a specific purpose, not just for no reason."
Yup, no identifiable leadership in operation there! NOT!

This ladies and gentlemen is why journalism now sucks.
We all know the official/ish accounts of anonymous. If they don't talk about it then assume it's just some idiot operating under the anonymous banner and not an official operation.
Think I'll start doing silly shit and add anonymous to my twitter name to see if I get some headlines.
