back to article BAE retracts hedge fund hack allegation

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence has retracted allegations of a nasty attack on a hedge fund it floated on Canadian television a couple of weeks ago. The firm today told Bloomberg was just a scenario that it used for “illustrative” purposes. BAE has promised not to scare us all with hypotheticals any more. That promise is all …

    BAe. Always trusted

To spread a bit of FUD when they want to scare up (literally) some business.

It's no accident they are the nearest equivalent to Lockheed you can find.

You wonder about motivation here. Shorting stock? No idea, but it smells, certainly the lag between this going live and the retraction.

Not sure they're shorting stock - think they were just banging their drum for a bit of business and banged a bit loud...

    "spook users. And the markets."

Frankly, the "markets" (i.e. useful idiots chasing after paper money and putting valuations pulled out of their behinds on other paper) needs a good spooking.

But no need to hasten it with rapidly combusting materials; the laws of the MARKET (the one with no scare quotes, coming from system theory) will reassart itself like a stellar magnetic field snapping back into place soon enough.

    It is going to hurt.
