Last night, after showering in my third story (second floor to you Brits) bathroom, I heard "hello" from outside the open window. Naturally, I jumped ... about a foot.
I looked out the window, and spotted a parrot in the Oak tree that makes curtains unimportant ... It was early dusk, so I can't be certain, but I think it was an African Grey.
I replied "hello, pretty bird" ... I like birds :-)
It leaned over & gave my nakedness a birdy left eyeballing, exclaimed "oh shit!", and bailed.
Quite surreal.

A quick search for "define fajita" has 5 for 5 of the top results stating fajitas are made with marinated and grilled strips of meat, "especially beef and chicken".
If the correct spelling of colour, neighbour and flavour round your way no longer use the "u", then I'm sure you can appreciate that language changes according to common usage? ;)

How the heck did you get from "El Torito" and "slaughterhouse"to "bluebottle"? Slaughterhouse is "matadero" or, more specifically in Mexico "rastro". Bluebottle is "moscarda", "moscón", or the more literal "mosca azul" (or even "aciano" if you're talking about the flower.)
Also, Mexico, being entirely in the Northern Hemisphere, is in North America and definitely not South America. It's southern most point is about 14° north of the equator. My wife gets very, very annoyed being called a South American.

In the Southern Cone, torito appears to mean a rhinoceros beetle, but apart from the geographical separation it's not clear how that could be confused with a fly. In Mexico, according to both the DRAE and the Diccionario breve de mexicanismos, it means both a question which is hard to answer without appearing to be in favour of whatever the person asking it wants you to appear to be in favour of, or a certain alcoholic drink. The latter seems quite plausible as the name for a drunk tank.
