    Nonsense! LTO-6 now, upcoming LTO-7 and LTO-8

    High-end, professional enterprise, very fast digital tapes like LTO-6 and upcoming LTO-7 and LTO-8 will keep being the cheapest and best way to archive huge amounts of data.

      Even at the low end of the scale, LTO1 still holds up quite well.

      Tapes are cheap as chips (unlike a multi week rotation of RDX etc) If you don't have visualised servers, then this still works fine.
