Made my Friday morning. :)
"It's happened again!" the Boss blurts, tripping into Mission Control in a flurry. "Yes, well, if you frequent those kind of websites you really should expect that," says the PFY evenly. "I... What kind of websites? Expect what?" "Oh, so we're not talking about your goat fetish?" "What bloody goat fetish!?" The Boss snaps …
To clear things up with the Director can they look through the recordings of the conversations in the office? You know, the one that is kept for quality assurance purpose... perhaps in "digested" form, with a chart of how many times terms like "goat fetish" were uttered, and by whom?
Someone mentioned email addresses! It must be time for one of my favourite Dilbert cartoons.
I tried to change my name at school to Ronald Oot, since I had access to the student information system. My boss, the system administrator, must have seen this before because the account creation job that ran nightly didn't create my new account. I was rather disappointed, and had a previously unscheduled meeting with him the next day...
I have worked at two small enterprise jobs where the scheme <firstname><initial-of-surname> was used for usernames and/or email addresses. It was only briefly policy in either case; in the former we had second thoughts about giving someone who came in at managerial level "christ@....".

"When is this happening?" I ask.
"All the time."
"So if I sent you an email it would appear and then be deleted?"
"It might be. Or it might be there."
"So actually it's SOME of the time - not ALL of the time."
"Well yes. But it's been happening for weeks."
"So it's been happening for a LONG time, but only OCCASIONALLY?" I ask
"Yes."
Oh, and yes, BRAVO!
