    Drones in the UK

Two days ago three people that I know saw a 15-17ft long drone fly 100ft above the Isle of Graemsay and then turn down the Rackwick valley. It had no markings but was just grey/white.

Is it legal for an aircraft to have no markings?

    Any ideas?

Edit: The RAF love training in this area, usually Tornado type jets.

The RAF love training in this area

I'm not surprised! Looking at the satellite view on Google Maps there are obvious similarities with the Falklands, and given recent sabre-rattling it seems wise to keep up with the training. I don't know if RAF aircraft with no markings are legal but in the context of genuine defence* they certainly should be.

*by genuine defence I don't mean NSA-type snooping, I mean actually keeping invading argiesarmies off our soil.
