Might AMD be able to do something similar with Seamicro
In the Moonshot case HP has put 4 processors on one card, any reason why AMD could not do the same when it came to Seamicro with this Opteron chip? They obviously can do more than 64 cpu sockets since they have 256 in the Atom configuration.
So I'd be surprised if AMD could not put two or more of these new Opterons (the chips look quite small) on a single Seamicro CPU board and get more out of it. Maybe they could get the full 256 sockets of this new quad core opteron.
The current Seamicro site lists 64 CPUs for the older 8-core Opterons, no mention of this newer 4 core version.
