    Consumer payback

When found guilty of price fixing what does the law provide in order to ensure that the consumer can recover his losses ?

    WTF?

    3 Years in prison?

    They got off lightly!

If I had stolen that much money I wouldn't see daylight until I'd turned old and grey!

    Karaoke

Colluding on prices is a kind of did-he-didn't-he, slippery-slope, don't-get-caught kind of thing. The real value of a judgement like this is that it sends a clear signal that karaoke is always wrong.

"Well I guess it would be nice, if I could fix my profit, I know not every outfit, can fix a profit like you."

No prizes for guessing the song ;)

Unless some one tells us how much our screens should have cost, then who cares?

I do care, as I buy quite a few of them each year (usually AU Optronics made, too)... but I have to say I'm almost always amazed at how cheap they are!

    But if it were IP?

Funny thing is, if this had been a company demanding a fixed large amount for "IP" from all panel makers, nothing would be seen to be wrong. Look at how the courts uphold trademark laws to stop grey imports of genuine goods at better prices.

But taking similar profits by 'agreeing' on pricing for a physical commodity is seen as a serious crime. Funny that?
